Test Post

This is where the text for the post will go.  Below, I will insert a picture.  You can put pictures in your posts, too.  We should only use the pictures and names of students who are allowed to have pictures posted online.  We will get that list from Mrs. Keeler later.  We will also make a picture for each post with the title and a graphic on it.  I made this one using Google Slides.  It's easy!

This weekend, I researched some ideas for articles for student newspapers.  Here they are:
  • News articles
  • Editorials (opinion piece, commentary)
  • Feature story (takes an article and expands on it in more detail)
  • Columns (usually a particular column has one author who writes it every time, along the same theme or idea each time.  These are usually like editorials written in the form of opinion pieces.) Some examples of columns:
  • Advice column
  • Poll/survey
  • School announcements
  • School policy (maybe Mr. Kregel could be interviewed for a policy of the week)
  • Questions & answers
  • Sports news
  • Spotlight (student spotlight, teacher spotlight - interview the people and write the articles about them)
  • Review article (book review, product review, etc.) First-hand experience
  • How-to article (study tips, sports tips, tips for using something at the school like the library)

Here is the link I found these on:  Make My NewspaperI also found a video of high school students telling what they would have liked to read about.  Feel free to watch it to get more ideas!

Leave a comment on this post telling AT LEAST THREE types of articles you would be interested in writing for our school newspaper/blog.  If there are more, list them!  If you can think of something else, list it!
